It is always a pleasure to create a garden for a beautiful home and this unique passivhaus was no exception. The house, built by Greenheart, is modern in style, fully clad in Western Red Cedar with sedum roofs.
The garden needed to be an extension of the home to be used for outdoor lounging and dining, whilst also being a focal point from large picture windows inside. The client also wanted to encourage a lot of wildlife into their small space, so it was crucial to include pollinator planting and wildflower meadow, all in a small space.
A generous terrace with Oak raised vegetable beds, comfy outdoor furniture and generous steps, leads up onto a lawn with wildflowers trees surrounding it. The wide steps wrap around into a retaining corten steel water table, nestled amongst vibrant planting. Taxus balls create evergreen structure and this forms the main view from the picture window.
It is amazing what you can fit into a small urban garden. Get in touch if you have a similar garden that requires attention.
