I spent some time plant hunting recently and managed to find this absolutely stunning Sarracenia (pitcher plant), as well as some other carnivorous native plants.

This was such a beautiful garden but it was a real challenge to design! It was both a front and back garden all in one, so it had to be both usable but also have a generous access from the house to the gate. It also needed to be family friendly and give a nod to the rich history of the house, which used to be a piggeries!
The key was to add the feature corrugated planter in the centre of the path, making the pathway both functional and a feature at the same time.
Since the path cut the garden in two it also meant we could have a big bed for cottage planting on one side and then a generous lawn on the other. Topiary cones added some much needed structure too 🪴. Pathways don’t have to be boring!
Amazing details with the hard landscaping too, thanks to @benjaminrichardpope @landy3614 @leighapugh @jimbobs2020 🥂!

One of mine has to be putting the plants in. All of the hard work finally pays off and the garden comes to life. I love playing around with the setting out as well to make sure everything is just right.
Then there’s the anticipation as you wait for it to fill out and develop into a beautiful garden!
This was a garden that I designed and built with @benjaminrichardpope - Ben did the majority of the build and then I got involved with all the bespoke steel work on the raised planters and shelter. Such a fun project and always great to work together!
