Greenbook Landscape Design Has Moved to Exeter!

A big change has happened in the Greenbook world – we’ve moved! Both the business and our
lives have made the exciting journey down to Exeter, Devon, a place that’s close to our hearts. It’s
also where Chris first picked up his gardening tools and discovered his passion for all things
gardens.

With its rolling moors, stunning beaches, and arguably the best countryside views in the UK, Devon
feels like the perfect location for Greenbook to thrive. This county has always held a special place
in our hearts, and we’re thrilled to bring our garden design expertise back to the homeland. We
can’t wait to dive into some truly amazing projects here! So, if you’ve got a garden in need of
creative inspiration, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.

Why Move To Exeter Now?

Moving to Devon has always been on the cards for us, but we finally took the leap in 2024. It’s a
decision that feels right both personally and professionally. Exeter and the surrounding areas
provide endless inspiration for creating beautiful, nature-connected spaces – and we’re ready to
bring your garden dreams to life in this incredible region.

What Does This Mean for Our Garden Design Work?

While our home base has shifted, our commitment to garden design excellence remains the same.
We’re still here to help transform your outdoor spaces, wherever you are. However, there’s one
small change: we may not always be able to build the spaces we design for you if you’re located
outside the South West.

Not to worry, though – we have some trusted professionals further up the country who can turn our
designs into reality. So, no matter where you are, don’t hesitate to reach out!

The majority of our work moving forward will be South West-based, with a particular focus on
Devon. Whether it’s an urban retreat in Exeter or a sprawling countryside estate, we’re excited to
create spaces that perfectly suit their settings.

Exciting New Garden Design Consultation Service

To make our expertise more accessible, we’re also offering a dedicated Garden Design
Consultation Service. This service allows us to work closely with you to develop ideas, create
plans, and guide your garden transformation. Whether you need full-scale designs or just advice to
take your outdoor space to the next level, we’re here to help.

of a garden designer, let’s create something incredible together!

Who else thinks the brink of Spring comes and goes too fast?

It’s so good to see Spring flowers bursting to life, with the bare bones of the garden still on show. Then all of a sudden it’s full steam ahead and everything is in leaf!

This is a project of mine on the edge of Dartmoor and has held up very well even with our soaking wet winter. Can’t wait to see more of the bulbs come through. The Magnolia ‘Stellata’ is putting on a serious display!

Do you want to make a show garden?! 🪴

Applications are still open for the Designer Gardens @tauntonfs !

I will be one of the judges again this year and we would love one or two more gardens to display. The deadline has been extended to Mid April if anyone would like to apply.

You’ll even get a complimentary 3x3m trade stand at the show as well as the garden, so it’s a win win!

Applications aren’t just for designers, anyone can apply so I really encourage you to give it a go! It will be a great experience and we look forward to seeing you there.

Top tips for pruning apple trees! 🌳

I’ve used a combination of my @stihlgb HTA 30 pole pruner, @stihlgb ASA 20 secateurs and a long reach lopper to prune this overgrown apple tree.

The best time to formatively prune apple trees is in the dormant season, between November and March.

A job so simple even a baby can do it!

Jude is exploring the garden now that Spring is on the way and he loved tidying this Festuca.

Most evergreen grasses just need a simple comb through to remove the dead and that’s all. You don’t even have to do this every year, only if it is very noticeable.

If you have any garden questions for Jude then please ask away!
