The existing garden was two unlinked patios, joined by patchy lawn with essentially no planting. The brief was to create an outdoor space that could be used for hosting friends and family, outdoor dining and have space for the dogs to play.
Our response to the brief was to make the garden an extension of the home. The client had South African roots so the planting scheme would give a nod to this and a large outdoor dining space would meet their needs.
Using strong simple shapes the garden was given important structure that it previously lacked. A bespoke pergola and seating gave the height in the garden, along with vertical Oak posts, intermingled with planting which softened the garden boundary and added depth.
The planting was a mix of coastal and exotic, using interesting foliage, texture and a simple colour palette to create a strong modern scheme.
The process started with a Concept Design, followed by Planting Design. A contractor was used to build the garden and our team carried out the Planting Supply and Installation.
The garden was a success and has been since enjoyed by the whole family and groups of friends.
